Print out this list and use it a reference on what to prepare and pack before your trip.
DOCUMENTS
– Passport and Visa (for NON-European students)
– Airline ticket and photocopy (keep it separate)
– Leave personal information with parents (photocopies of travel documents, passport, visa, credit cards, bank account number)
– Erasmus papers like the “Declaration of Erasmus grant assignment”
– Four passport-size color recent photographs
MONEY
– ATM card and pin code (keep them separated)
– Major Credit card
– Traveler’s Checks – (it’s much easier if you just use your debit/credit card)
– Bring some cash in your currency just in case
– You may have to tell your bank that you are leaving your country (sometimes they block cards abroad)
HEALTH
– Proof of insurance or European health insurance card (or E111)
– Supply of any prescription medication (accompanied by a copy of original prescription)
– Extra prescription
– Prepare a paper writing down your allergies (if allergic to medications use the generic name NOT the brand name)
ELECTRONICS
– Laptop
– Make a backup of your laptop to leave at home
– USB flash drive
– Mobile phone (if your phone is unlocked and allows SIM cards you can easily get an Italian number and save a lot of money on phone calls)
– Camera for your unforgettable memories of Perugia (maybe an extra memory card too?)
– Music player
PERSONAL SUPPLIES
– One towel
– House slippers (Italian floors are not carpeted)
– Journal
– Travel guides
CLOTHES
– Check online for some weather statistic to have an idea of what to bring
– Wind jacket and some sweater s even during the spring season (Perugia can be a little windy sometimes)
– Raincoat, rain boots, umbrella
OTHER
– Print out of map with location of your Perugia apartment (if known) or University offices or any meeting point you decide
– Print out of transportation info on how to reach Perugia and timetable
