An Italian dictionary to renting a room that you will find really useful

Monolocale > Usually a one-room apartment with a toilet/bathroom and limited cooking facilities. In central Perugia these are often converted basements with all the charm (and odor) of a prison cell.
Mini Appartamento > Similar to a Monolocale but slightly better appointed. May have more elaborate cooking facilities and separate living and sleeping areas.
Camera Singola > Single room
Camera Doppia > Twin or double room
Camera Matrimoniale > Room with double bed
Posto letto > One bed in a twin room, i.e., you are sharing the room with another person
Ampio, spazioso > Spacious
Luminoso > Bright, well-lit
Panoramico > With pleasant view
Confortevole > Comfortable
Lavatrice > Washing machine
Cucina > Kitchen
Angolo cottura > Kitchenette
Cucina abitabile > Inhabitable kitchen; beware that this is not the “room” actually on offer.
Bagno > Bathroom
Terazzo > Terrace
Giardino > Garden
Caparra, cauzione > Security deposit or caution money
Mensilità > A month’s rent, usually as the caution
Spese > Bills (typically water, electricity,gas, heating, rubbish)
Incluso, compreso > Included
Escluso > Excluded
Condominio > Condominium fee, usually for cleaning of public areas
Acqua > Water (bill)
Gas > Gas (bill)
Luce > Electricity (bill)
Salotto > Lounge room
Condiviso > Shared
Brevi periodi > Short periods
Affitto > Rent
Affittasi > Available for rent; to let space
Riscaldamento > Heating
Termoautonomo > Individual/adjustable heating control
Settimana corta > Short week, i.e. Monday to Friday only
